Home truths: renters' stories from the Australian housing crisis.

Is this even legal?

We were told our lease was ending and not being renewed. The next day the property was listed for sale. We asked to leave earlier as there were open inspections every week and we have a toddler. The agent replied that we had to give 3 weeks notice and pay rent until then even though the lease has already ended. We had to pay another month of rent even though we’d already moved out, otherwise they threatened to take us to tribunal.
